The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution – Biceps Tendon Sheath Injection: Ultrasound-Guided Procedure Module explores the use of ultrasound to evaluate biceps tendon pathologies and clinical indications for performing ultrasound-guided biceps tendon sheath injections. Biceps tendon ruptures, tenosynovitis, tendinosis, partial tears, and tendon subluxation/dislocation are discussed. A brief overview of shoulder anatomy is provided. The sonographic anatomy of the biceps tendon is described in detail. Optimal transducer selection, patient positioning, imaging approaches, and techniques for sonographically evaluating the biceps tendon are discussed. The course concludes with imaging tips and pitfalls, and potential procedure complications.
