Because spinal sonography can be performed rapidly and easily and is non-invasive, spinal ultrasound plays a progressively evolving role in patient care. The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution - Spine: Anatomy & Physiology Module begins with an overview of the role of ultrasound in the evaluation of the spine. A review of anatomy and physiology is provided for the spine and surrounding musculature. The sonographic anatomy and sonographic techniques used for imaging these structures are presented. The course concludes with imaging tips and pitfalls and a summary of salient teaching points.
