The SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution – Focused Cardiac Ultrasound (FoCUS) – Part II: Advanced Clinical Module explores the use of ultrasound to detect and assess valvular heart disease, and, specifically, teaches the ideal echocardiographic windows for detecting valvular heart disorders, the approach to both valvular-regurgitant and stenotic disorders, and the evaluation of specific valvular disorders affecting the aortic, mitral, pulmonic, and tricuspid valves.
Overall Activity Objectives:
1) Identify and evaluate unique sonographic characteristics of valvular-regurgitant and stenotic disorders of the heart.
2) Describe the ideal echocardiographic windows for detecting valvular heart disorders.
3) Evaluate specific valvular disorders affecting the aortic, mitral, pulmonic, and tricuspid valves.
