Ultrasound has tremendous value in providing image guidance during invasive procedures. The potential procedures that benefit from ultrasound guidance vary considerably, and the list continues to grow. In many cases, procedures too risky or too difficult to perform blindly can now be safely performed with ultrasound guidance. The Introduction to Ultrasound-Guided Procedures: Procedure Module includes lessons on: the advantages of and indications for ultrasound-guided procedures, pre-procedural preparation, procedural steps, imaging adjuncts, technical tips and pitfalls, and potential complications. One develops the visuospatial skills required to perform needle-based ultrasound-guided procedures through 10 different simulation cases.
